Ivy Lane School (1)

Local author, Neil Griffiths, visited Ivy Lane School to do a workshop with KS1 and KS2 children

On Thursday 4th July 2019, the amazing author Neil Griffiths, who is an ex pupil of Ivy Lane School, (our Griffiths Class is named after him) came into Ivy Lane to do a workshop with KS2 and KS1. He performed three of his stories with us including: Messy Martin, Shaun the Shy Shark and The Journey; which is being shown around China! The stories were really good and extremely funny. He included members of Staff and pupils with his stories and games. He played a game with us where we had to throw a ball into a teacher’s Pelican bib.

During the morning, he also handed out 27 awards to pupils of our school which he does every year brilliantly. He made us all laugh a lot, especially when he told us about the bean story. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you about that because we have been sworn to secrecy. Overall, we had a great workshop with Neil, and hopefully he will be back next year to tell us more of his funny stories and present us with next year’s awards!
