Ivy Lane School (2)

British Science Week

This week has been British Science Week and in celebration of this, we have been extremely lucky to be visited by the Science Dome over the past two days. It has been an exciting opportunity for every child in the school to experience science in a fun and interactive way. Each class chose a different show, linked with their class learning, and we look forward to having discussions that will be sparked by the children’s experiences. The children and staff would like to thank Chippenham Borough Lands Charity for funding this amazing project. A huge thank you also to Neil for sharing so many fascinating facts about science and we hope to welcome him back to Ivy Lane again in the future.
Some of the quotes we received from children were:

“Absolutely amazing – we went to Mars!” Year 1
“We are so small in the universe, when we zoomed out from Earth, you couldn’t even see us any more!” Year 4
“Did you know that a meteor hit the dinosaurs” Year 1
“We were the first people to land on Mars!” Year 3
Some of our teachers also quoted:
“Covered what our current learning is in class and so much more!”
“The childen were captivated”.
“Mesmerising – the children were wowed and so beautifully behaved”.
