Interim head of School Nina Jeffries was delighted to receive a lovely email from Hannah Tarring, from St Michael’s Church, appreciating the positive behaviour and enthusiasm of the Year 5 classes on their ‘Melksham Pilgrimage’ on 24th September.
Children from Aloeric and other Melksham schools visited five Christian churches around Melksham. The children learnt about the different traditions, styles of worship and denomination of each church, and were able to ask questions and reflect on their own feelings and beliefs.
Year 5 teacher and 'Rights Respecting School' Leader Kaylie Robbins said ‘The pilgrimage encourages the children to be aware of different faiths and beliefs. At Aloeric, we want to our children to be aware of the differences and similarities between different British communities, and this is an important part of that.’
