A parent of a child at Ivy Lane School nominated the school to win a fantastic prize as part of a recent competition through Heart FM, promoting Premier League Primary Stars and we were lucky enough to the drawn from thousands of schools applying.
On the morning of Friday, 29th June, as well as an exclusive opportunity to see the Premier League trophy in our school, children had an assembly covering the values of Premier League Primary Stars, which are to be: Ambitious, Inspiring, Connected and Fair.
The Premier League All Stars representatives were also joined by players from Swindon Town Football Club - we even had a visit from their team mascot Rocking Robin! All children had the opportunity to have their photos taken with the Trophy (but weren’t allowed to touch it!!). Even Bertie got in on the action!!
During the morning, Swindon Town Football Club delivered football master classes to the children – which they thoroughly enjoyed. On the same day in the afternoon as part of the prize, we had a visit by author Dan Freedman who also presented a whole school assembly.
In addition to this we received some great books from well-known authors such as Cressida Cowell, Frank Lampard, Julia Donaldson and James Patterson, a complete Nike Football kit in our Ivy Lane colours and lots of sports goodies. Thank you to Mrs Kilmister (mother of Amber, Dahl Class) for taking the time to nominate our school.
All in all it was a fantastic day and definitely one that children and staff will remember for a long time to come.
