Pitton School have won Salisbury Radio's Song for Christmas! A huge well done to the very talented children and staff - we look forward to seeing the trophy! More details below...
Pitton's 'Song for Christmas' was chosen because it was a Pitton Christmas favourite, introduced around 6 years ago by Miss Pearce. The children love singing this unusual version of 'While Shepherd's Watched' which was written by the folk singer, Kate Rusby and originates from the North-west. We spent time recording the whole school in the hall and then groups of children were recorded in our mini recording studio. Percussion and flute parts were also recorded in this way by Mr Russell. Mrs Guymer had to write her own flute part by hand! Mr Russell then mixed and perfected the final recording ready to enter into the competition.
